KABUL (Reuters) - Afghanistan's purist Islamic Taleban publicly executed a man for murder and lashed another for adultery, the movement's radio said on Saturday. "The heavenly order was administered on a murderer and an adulterer on Friday in Kabul, where thousands of countrymen were present," Voice of Shariat radio reported. It said Bharam Khan, his face covered, was shot twice from behind by the brother of the murdered man in the city's sports stadium after the victim's family said it would not forgive him. Before the shooting, watched by women for the first time since a series of public punishments began this year, a man was lashed 100 times for adultery. Taleban punishments based on Islamic law include stoning and lashing for adultery and amputation for theft.
