BRATISLAVA (SITA) - The Slovak Democratic Coalition (SDK) did not accept the Hungarian Coalition (MK) as co-organizer of a Wednesday Bratislava rally, held to launch a petition for direct presidential elections and a just election law. The SDK only invited a MK member to give a speech on March 25, Hungarian Civic Party (MOS) leader Laszlo Nagy complained at a press conference on Tuesday. The SDK action is a sign of increasing political tension before the elections, Bela Bugar, chairman of the Hungarian Christian Democratic Movement said in evaluating the
SDK's change of heart, and he added that the SDK move will not affect further cooperation between the coalitions. The MK feels humiliated because only one speaker from the MK was invited, and will only be a guest, despite the fact that the SDK and the MK agreed on the petition together. It is contradictory to voice interest in cooperation and limit it at the same time, Bugar stated.
