BRATISLAVA (SITA) - Slovak Democratic Coalition (SDK) leader Mikuláš Dzurinda said, "The annoying scandal continues in Parliament," in reaction to the second discussion day of the Slovak Parliament, during which the Slovak Cabinet cameras performs its four-year operation reports in front of TV. The SDK leader said the reports of particular ministers are nothing but demagogy. He emphasized that Agriculture Minister Peter Baco has not even mentioned the grain case, which was one of the greatest scandals of the department. Nor did Minister for Privatization of State Property Peter Bisák discuss the circumstances that led to the crash of Investment and Development Bank (IRB). Dzurinda also told journalists that he has obtained information on the intention to privatize airports. Allegedly, the state-run Slovak Television will not broadcast the debate following the presentation of the Cabinet reports, but it fully covered the presentation of ministers. Parliament is expected to vote on the so-called authority law that would shift some presidential authorities to the speaker of parliament. The opposition is pushing for the Slovak National Party-tailored (SNS) bill. However, the SDK leader told journalists that if the SNS bill does not go through, the opposition would support the first version of the Cabinet-tailored bill, condemning the second one, which is the first step towards the chancellor system. If the first Cabinet version does not go through, Dzurinda will initiate a break to discuss further proceedings and treatment of the second version.
