BRATISLAVA (SITA) The department of financial inspections of the Finance Ministry has discovered discrepancies in the handling of the finances at the public Slovak Television (STV) amounting to almost 54 million SKK. The protocol was completed in January 1998. The STV used 1.07 million SKK in a way other than set by the STV budget, and was fined 3.94 million SKK. The inspection found further that the STV carried out purchases worth 12.7 million SKK, in which the legally binding rules of public procurement were violated. The public television further did not report tangible investment property worth near 40 million SKK, and it had unreported inventory items worth 3.5 million SKK. In total, all these discrepancies amounted to 53.87 million SKK.
