president of the Czechoslovak Constitutional Court President told SITA. The Supreme Court, referring to the 93rd paragraph of the Civil Code, which stipulates that "along with the proposer and the opposer, also the one who has a legal interest in the result can attend the sitting," decided that the party whose registration was challenged can attend the sitting as a secondary attendee. Exactly this
point was the subject of the oppositions appeal to the Constitutional Court in the case of the Election Acts discrepancy with the constitution over which the Court should decide on August 18. The opposition requested the Court to check the constitutionality of the part that elaborates the authority of the Supreme Court, particularly whether the court can act in the case of election matters against the UVK decisions, Valko said. The Constitution stipulates that the courts decide against the decisions of administrative bodies. Valko sees the problem in the fact that the UVK is not an administrative body, "it is a state body without being administrative." Valko hopes that in the case of SDK registration the Supreme Court will be objective.
