LONDON (Reuters) - Elton John has persuaded the Spice Girls, Sting and Janet Jackson to sing on an opera album - his reworking of Verdi`s Aida. "I wanted to get the Spice Girls involved because I think they`ve got a lot of humour about them. And I love seeing them perform live," he told The Sun tabloid on Thursday. The veteran rocker plans to sing two duets on the album - with Janet Jackson and LeAnn Rimes. "I was thrilled by how many artists wanted to do it," he said of his reworking of the opera with lyrics by Tim Rice. "Sting is going to record a song called `Another Pyramid` which will be done in a reggae style," he said.
