CAIRO (Reuters) - A Cairo court has granted a woman a divorce from a husband said to have beaten her for objecting to his "unIslamic" gold earring, court sources said on Wednesday. "Wearing an earring goes against Islamic law because it makes the man resemble a woman," the court ruled on Tuesday after hearing evidence from the 30-year-old woman and witnesses who testified that the husband had beaten and insulted her in public. The woman had left her husband, a 35-year-old accountant, saying she would not return unless he stopped wearing the earring.
