before convicting Susan Eubanks of four counts of murder, is due to return next week to decide if she should face the death penalty or life in prison without the possibility of parole. Eubanks was charged with fatally shooting her four sons, ages 4 to 14, in October 1997 after an argument with her boyfriend. She then shot herself in the stomach, but eventually recovered from that wound. Prosecutors said she killed the boys to torment her two former husbands and her boyfriend. Authorities said Eubanks, who had been drinking all day with her boyfriend, paged one of her former husbands, Eric Eubanks, and left the cryptic text message: „Say goodbye“ on his pager. Eric Eubanks called authorities to check on the welfare of his children. When sheriff‘s deputies arrived they found Susan Eubanks in her bedroom bleeding from a gunshot wound. The four boys were found dead or dying from gunshot wounds to the head.
