Elena: Nice to meet you.
Peter: Nice to meet you, too, Mrs. Šebestová.
Elena: Did you have any problems finding us?
Peter: No, not at all. But the traffic was bad.
Elena: Terrible, isn’t it? Have a seat. Shall we get started?
Peter: Ok.
Elena: Can you tell me a little about yourself?
Peter: Since graduating from the University of Economics, I’ve had several jobs. I’ve been working for 5 years at SlovTech.
Elena: And what are your main responsibilities?
Peter: I’m responsible for managing regional marketing activities for corporate clients.
Elena: That’s great. Can you tell about how you manage the people there?
Peter: I am detail-oriented, I work well under pressure, so I always emphasize the participation of the team. I adapt my style to what the situation requires.
Elena: Interesting.

The World of Work
My Employment Experience
My work kept me busy. I started a few weeks before the launch of the company website so I had to work on many projects. I edited materials, prepared presentations, worked on strategy, and conducted research. I was grateful for all this because based on this experience, I’ve put together some employment rules:
1: Punctuality is very important.
2: Be clear in your goals.
3: Be flexible!
4: Be assertive.
5: Have fun!
I would tell any future employee to make the most of their opportunity. Whatever tasks you have, do them and do them well.
Comprehension
Decide whether the following statements are True or False:
1. The writer started her employment three weeks after the re-launch of the website.
2. She didn’t feel there was a lot of variety in her job.
3. Her advice for other employees is never to be late.
4. You shouldn’t express your opinions openly. Your supervisor might consider it rather rude.
