BUDAPEST – A female ticket inspector on Budapest‘s underground railway bit a woman‘s arm and broke her thumb after the passenger refused to hand over her purse containing a valid ticket.
Andrea Kuczik told Reuters by telephone from her hospital bed on Thursday she had had to have surgery to repair ruptured tendons in her right thumb after the attack earlier this week.
„I showed her my valid ticket in a transparent part of my purse, which also contained my bank cards, identity papers, driving licence. I didn‘t want to hand over the whole lot,“ she said.
After being bitten, Kuczik ran out of the underground station in Hungary‘s capital and stumbled into a police jeep. She said she planned to lodge a formal complaint, adding her hand would be in a cast for several weeks. Reuters
