Z Budapešti cez Nickelsdorf do Viedne. Tisícky utečencov prišli v sobotu autobusmi z hraničného priechodu Nickelsdorf na železničnú stanicu Westbahnhof.

Na utečencov čakali vo Viedni zástupy dobrovoľníkov. Na nástupištiach rozdávali jedlo, šaty, ale aj hračky pre deti. Pomáhali tlmočníci, lekári a psychológovia. K pomoci sa pripájali aj náhodní okoloidúci, ktorí pre utečencov spontánne v obchodoch nakupovali to najzákladnejšie.

Systém pomoci utečencom bol zorganizovaný aj na stanici Hauptbahnhof v centre mesta, odkiaľ jazdí priame spojenie do Berlína. Aj tu dobrovoľníci v spolupráci s rakúskym Červeným krížom ponúkali lekársku pomoc, miesto na odpočinok, šaty či teplé jedlo.
